Decided to head up the coast, grab a bite to eat. We were greeted by staff upon entering. Friendly hostess and waitress. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of sweet potatoes, instead of the rice/beans. Delicious! It really was. The sweet potatoes are thick slices, drizzled with oil, make just right. The two tacos were tasty and filled generously. I also had the purple haze cocktail, it was tasty, just not as strong as I'm use to. I'd recommend this place to any looking for a nice quick bite near the water.

Baked Haddock was amazing. Waitstaff were very polite and attentive. They also have outdoor heated seating that was sweet. They have a nice selection of sushi, which I will need to try next time ! Overall pleasant experience.

We came here on a warm Sunday afternoon. They had just opened their doors and we were the 3rd table to be seated. We sat outside to take advantage of the dwindling summer-like weather. We were so thrilled when we saw what was in their special menu: Twin Lobster Rolls. Wow! It was already a great day, and now we both were going to have 2 lobster rolls each! The day could not be any sweeter, and we both couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear. So we didn't even look at the regular menu, and when our waitress came we told her we each wanted the twin lobster rolls special. This restaurant currently has a $10 for $20 coupon deal you can purchase through Yelp. They also have a free appetizer promo if you do a Yelp check in. However, you can only use one offer at a time. We decided to use the $10 for $20 since we both were having 2 lobster rolls, and who can possibly fit an appetizer before eating 2 rolls? Five minutes later, our waitress came back to inform us that they had run out of lobsters the night before. Oh what a drag. So disappointed. What a total let down. Now we had to look at the regular menu after all. My husband ordered Crispy Haddock Burrito and I had Shrimp Po Boy. Although we both enjoyed our lunch, and I think I counted at least 10 good sized shrimps in my Po Boy, the disappointment lingered. I mean if you're going to present the special menu, shouldn't the chef had informed all the servers what was 86 in the menu before the first customer arrived? We weren't even upset with our waitress. She was so apologetic and overall great server. Anyway, that's about it.

Latitude has one of the largest sushi selections around so we stopped in for another go last week and were not disappointed. We had 5 rolls--a california roll, fire cracker, spicy salmon, vacation and tempura roll. The cali had a lot of crab and it was almost pureed, an interesting preparation. I dont tend to eat them but thought it was prettu good. The fire cracker roll was my favorite--easy to eat and super flavorful. The vacation roll comes next but it was a little challenging to pick up for some reason though quite tasty once you managed that part. The biggest thing to note about Latitude is that parking can get tight so leave yourself a little extra time to find a spot

I have to admit - I almost skipped going here because it was only rated 3.5 on Yelp. Luckily, my sister has an eye for nice restaurants so she chose this as our lunch date after visiting nearby Hammond Castle (not to be missed!) When we first arrived, there was a group in front of us who wanted to sit outside, but was unable to since they only wanted to have drinks. Since we came here to eat, we managed to get a table outside and the hostess was very accommodating to let me chose my table! Our waiter was very nice and recommended the samurai press box and it was delicious! Maybe slightly heavy on the rice, but perfectly balanced to suit my spice level. My sister ordered the fried oyster po boy and seemed to enjoy her dish as well. Too bad this place wasn't closer! I would love to try other things on the menu. Until next time...

It's highly possible that I happened to hit Latitude 43 on a good day, but I had great food in a great atmosphere with great service. A friend and I decided to get out of Boston for the day and head up the coast. We started in cute little Rockport, but were in the mood for sushi so decided to hit Latitude 43 on the way back. I'm so glad we did! First of all, the day was gorgeous so we sat outside and watched the boats coming and going. We grabbed a bottle of wine and started with some spicy edamame and stuffed clams. Both were delicious and blended perfectly with each other and the wine. I ordered a dragon roll and my friend ordered a spicy tuna roll. Both were awesome! Sometimes with sushi, things can taste a little off, or the rice isn't sticky enough or just something doesn't seem right. Not this time, everything tasted delicious and we walked away happy and full. Gloucester isn't exactly known for it's fine dining but I would recommend Latitude 43 to anyone in the north shore who may be in the mood for something a little different.
